20A – Growing Your Social Capital

1. Feng Zhung (Expert)
Feng Zhui is a expert in China when it comes to business starting. He is the person to go to when you want to start something new. Perhaps you have an idea what you want to start, and he will help you get what you need. He is 56 years old who is highly influential in his field and has many talents when it comes to business. I came about him with a little help from my uncle who if you recall from a post form a while ago, is the person I interviewed who has many tips and advises for me in business. There wasn't much exchange as he saw me as too young and naive to make any proper exchange, which I agree with. But hypothetically speaking he would oversee the first few operations if I ever did my business, and all he asked for was contacts of the people who started their business through my company. Including this person in my network will not only assist with the start of my company but also lead to contacts that stretch beyond the U.S.
2. Hui Zhung (Domain Expert)
Hui Zhung is aspiring entrepreneur who is eager to follow in the footsteps of his dad, the one mentioned before. He is 27 years old, working with his dad to learn about the ways of business just as his father did. His dad and him hopes for him to be able to take over the business whenever the dad wasn't able to. I met him while talking with his dad and his dad introduced me to him to help me learn just what I am getting myself into. Just like his father there wasn't much exchange to be given as it is too early to tell if my concept can be turned into reality, so he just told me some tips and tricks for the future. Hypothetically speaking, Hui Zhing will be a great person to confide into if I'm ever in a pickle due to his overwhelming experience in the field than I.
3. Teng Jung(Supplier)
This one was hard to find due to the fact that I don't know what kind of supplier that I would need in this field. A supplier for a company that starts client's company ideas. Therefore I wondered for a bit then realized that a supplier doesn't necessarily have to be a supplier of materials, but a person who can "supply" what my client needs. That would be financial advice and so I looked into my mother's contact list and found Teng Jung, who is a banker and can provide financial tips to people who seek them. In exchange for her services, she wants me to supply her with a list of names she can use in the future. This person is essential to my business idea due to the value she brings on board.

Future networking events are something I myself need to attend and to get contacts myself. This experience taught me that as of right now, none of the contacts I have talked to in this exercise, were none of my doing. There were brought up through family, which my family worked hard to get and maintain. It is my job in the future to find contacts and to keep and maintain them unlike what I'm doing now which is staying with the same group of people and keeping small contact with them.
